Hello. I am Rebecca Lake. My Dad and his brothers all had heart disease and diabetes, so I bought the books "How to Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease" by Dr. Esselstyn and "How to Prevent and Reverse Diabetes" by Dr. Barnard and they both said exactly the same thing: DON'T EAT ANY MEAT, DAIRY OR OIL!
If you want to lose weight, eat this way. If you want off your medications, eat this way. If you never want to hurt anymore, eat this way. If you can't control your blood sugar, eat this way. If you never want to be sick again, eat this way. If you don't cook, eat Whole Foods, not highly processed ones. Eat broccoli, quinoa, sweet potatoes, onions, kale, garlic, apples, blueberries, strawberries, cucumbers, celery, lentils, red black and garbanzo beans, arugula, romaine, oranges, mangoes, carrots, potatoes.....whole foods. You can make potato fries, boil potatoes and put salsa on them, steam potatoes and mash them, add nutritional yeast and salt and pepper. Eat simply and get rid of DAIRY, MEAT and OIL! I eat a monster salad every day but I had family with heart disease and diabetes. So eat what makes you feel good. I eat vegan highly processed foods and my head hurts, or my arm or leg hurts. Once you clean your diet up, your body will tell you what foods you shouldn't be eating. Listen to your body!!!
I take Vitamin D3 2500 IU and Methyl Vitamin B12(Jarrow) 5000 mg once a week. I am drinking 120 oz. of water daily. Dr. Greger says preload your breakfast with either two cups of water, or an apple(which he calls a negative calorie preload). I do.
