Turkey Loaf
1 high protein block of tofu (Trader Joes if possible)
1 1/4 cups vital wheat gluten
1 1/2 tsps Better Than Bouillon no chicken base
1 1/2 tsps garlic powder
1 1/2 tsps onion powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup water as needed
Set the oven to 350 degrees. Cut open the high protein tofu and let the water drip into the sink. Add the tofu to a blender and blend until finely blended. Put the blended tofu into a food processor (if you have one) or a counter mixer with a dough hook, or a big bowl if you don't. Add the rest of the ingredients (I always add the water) (don't add the salt if you have high blood pressure) and either turn on the food processor or counter mixer and mix with your hands in the bowl. Either way a dough forms. Once a dough forms, place the dough on a large piece of parchment paper and make a loaf. Once a loaf is created from all the pieces of dough, roll the loaf up in the parchment paper tightly and roll the ends to securely set the loaf within the parchment paper. Next take a large piece of tin foil and wrap the wrapped loaf in the foil tightly, rolling the ends to securely place the loaf within. It looks like a burrito. Bake on a cookie sheet for 1 hour and 15 minutes. As soon as the time has passed, take the loaf out of the oven and enjoy.
